Individual Therapy
Why people come to me
Often clients are breaking the habit of a lifetime by reaching out for help. They have a sense that theIR familiar strategies for navigating life aren’t working anymore
Sometimes a sudden life event, a change in life stage, a challenging relationship, or a profound loss, brings a moment of reckoning. Other times, it is a quiet inner sense that something needs to shift— a feeling of having become disconnected from oneself.
Space for what is emerging
Mixed in with the struggle, there is almost always a hidden possibility: a quiet hope that life could be freer, more authentic, easier, kinder, and more connected. A certain courage is already emerging just by stepping toward therapy.
While each person remains the ultimate expert on their own life, it is common to have disconnected from what matters most, or to find it difficult to distinguish between the voice of fear and the voice of truth.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in old, repetitive patterns. The process of “unsticking” is a collaborative one. It requires a space that is curious, open, and non-judgmental—an environment where there is no need to censor oneself, “get it right,” or have all the answers. It is a place where one cannot be “too much.”
The/My Therapeutic Approach
What is often missing from everyday conversations with friends is the shared containment and courage required to safely explore uncharted internal places. The work here is deeply informed by specialised, present-moment frameworks—specifically the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gestalt therapies.
Rather than just analysing problems intellectually, these approaches allow for a gentle, real-time exploration of the survival strategies and relational adaptations that may be causing distress.
The intention is to walk together through the difficult places, working deeply to support greater freedom, insight, and peace.
Internal Shifts
As this collaborative work unfolds, shifts begin to happen. While there are often meaningful changes in a person’s external life, the most profound movement is usually internal. People frequently describe:
- A deeper, more compassionate understanding of themselves
- An increased sense of safety and groundedness in the world
- A rediscovery of personal strength
- A capacity for both surrender and joy
